Fashionista: Jan Gandhi

The love we have for ThePeacockParade.com is the same kind of life-altering appreciation that we have for BB creams. Their daily flash sales, offering up to 80% off highly coveted luxury labels, have made shopping for designer duds – like Fendi sunglasses and Missoni scarves – easier than concealing our pores. The Toronto-based web boutique was created by two girlfriends, who moved back from New York City with hopes of bringing the popularity of NYC flash sample sales back to their hometown. We visited 34-year-old Jan Gandhi, one of the co-founders and a former entertainment lawyer for MTV, at the TPP downtown headquarters to check out what she uses on her skin. Which is supernaturally flawless, by the way.

Skin type? Normal

Fashion is so fast paced. Are you as fickle with your skincare as you are with your wardrobe? No actually, I’ve been using the Clarins line for two years now. I love how light they’re products are, yet they keep my skin feeling hydrated all day. Before Clarins, I used to use Caudalie, loyally: I would stock up every time I traveled to Europe, especially in Paris, they have the best range of products in every local pharmacy!

Is there anything skincare-related you miss most about NYC that you can’t get in Toronto? Facials at Mario Bedescu in Midtown East. I tried to go once every 3 months; before my wedding I was going once a month. I would get regular facials but added things on depending on what was recommended. I have never had a facial anywhere else that has left my skin feeling so clean and refreshed. I try to still go when I am in NY. I have not found a place in Toronto that compares as yet, I have tried a few places like the Four Seasons Spa, but I am still looking for my go-to place.

Your 3 can’t-live-without skincare products? Clarins Extra Firming Day Moisturizer with SPF 15, Clarins Toning Lotion, Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser.

Your most recent What The Yuck?! skin moment? I’m noticing that my veins on my arms seem to be more visible, I think I need a tan.

If you could trade dermatologists with any celebrity, who would it be? Cate Blanchett.

Favorite food? Cheese, I would choose cheese over chocolate any day.

Most overused word? Obviously.

Favorite saying? Life is a Parade, Attend in Style.
